About
The Atatürk House is a two-storey mansion on Atatürk Street in the city centre, built in 1897 for the daughter of the German consul of the time. The building, where Atatürk stayed during his visits to Mersin, was expropriated and restored in the 1980s and opened as a museum in 1992.
On the lower floor are the 'Atatürk in Photographs and Documents' exhibition and 22 personal belongings brought from the Anıtkabir Museum; on the upper floor, period rooms displaying local ethnographic artefacts can be seen. Entry is free; visiting hours and temporary closures are shown live from the muze.gov.tr record.
