Adamkayalar — Mersin
Adamkayalar — in Erdemli district. Rock reliefs and tombs carved into the steep slope of the Şeytan Deresi valley, dating back 2000 years.

About
Adamkayalar consists of rock reliefs and tomb niches on the steep slope of the Şeytan Deresi valley north of Kızkalesi, dated between the 2th century BC and the 2nd century AD. Nine niches contain figures of men, women and children as well as animal depictions; the reliefs are thought to portray deceased family members.
Reaching the area requires a trail walk and the slope is steep; proper footwear and caution are essential. Some of the reliefs can also be seen from points overlooking the valley. It can be combined with a Kızkalesi visit on the same day; entry is free but the site is under protection — do not damage the fabric.
